Picture a Favorite Place
One of my favorite places in the world is Colorado. For the past few years, my family has made an annual trip to Vail, Colorado every summer and I absolutely love it. Summertime in the Rocky Mountains is amazing. The weather is perfect and the scenery is breathtaking. On top of that, there are so many activities that Colorado has to offer. I love to fly fish and kayak and Colorado is the perfect Summer destination to do both of those.

There is always a big group of Colorado "favorite places" posts every semester, and no surprise when Colorado can offer beautiful mountains that you just will not find in Oklahoma. Of course mountains are a defining feature of the geography of India too: the great god Shiva has his abode in the Himalayas, and they will play a part in the epics you are reading for class. Shiva's sacred peak is called Kailasa, or Mount Kailash - it's located in what is now Tibet, and it's sacred not just to Hindus but to Buddhists also. :-)
